Unemployment is still at its highest levels and this is one major factor why President Obama laid out his plan to give up to $5000 in tax credits to companies for every new employee they hire this year. Little or no access to credit at all was seen as the culprit why there is a major barrier in hiring.
The importance of credit and capital for a small business cannot be underestimated. Tagged as the “engine of job growth,” small businesses greatly impact the economy. The financial success of a small business largely depends on its ability and capacity to obtain credit in order to continue its business operations.
Truth be told, majority of small businesses cease operations in just a few months of business. Credit problems are usually the cause of these fallouts. There are ways to prevent these from happening.
One is to stay on track of your bookkeeping and cash flows. This way, you will be able know the weak and strong points of your business’ financial capabilities. It is nice to know that the government is now paying more attention to supporting small businesses. However, small business experts say that although a greater flow of credit can help, the top reason why employers are not hiring is due to poor sales, but that is another story.
